If you have any kind of leak - buy this - worth every penny. I have a basement - major leak - applied this on the inside and the exterior of the wall after I dug down to the foundation. 2 years and so far so good!
Worked far better than expected. It does dry blue as the name implies.
It goes on a lot different than I expected and it dries translucent. Had to do 6 coats for it to be as thick as I needed but it’s on a water trough the dogs use to swim in. So far, no issues!
I have three 5,000 gallon cinder block water tanks that store & supply my house water. The tanks were built in the early to mid 1950's. I have owned the house for 20 years. When I purchased the house, the tanks all had slight leaks from the grout lines between random blocks, and the interior of all tank had been coated with fiberglass resin (it too, was cracked). After much research, I decided to try Blue Max to coat the floor and interior walls of the tanks.Blue Max is a thick product that apples easily with the appropriate rollers and brushes. It dries semi tacky, and its odor dissipates as it dries. I've used paints before that had more objectionable odors than Blue Max. I applied 2 thick coats to the floors and walls on the tank interiors.15 + years after application : we recently had an earthquake. A couple of days after the quake, I noticed one of the tanks appear to be leaking, as the exterior wall was wet. Fearing the worst, I emailed with questions about recoating, prepping and seam sealing. Tracey at promptly responded to all my questions. That email exchange prompted me to go out and start to find out exactly why the tank was leaking. I found my overflow line was obstructed, allowing the tank to spill over. Cleared the overflow line and no water flowing on the outside of the tank. Blue Max is still holding strong after 15+ years, and their customer service is great. I am very pleased with both their product and their customer service; and I highly recommend them.
I did extensive research on the best product to water proof an interior block wall. Blue Max is amazing. Easy to apply with a small roller and the coverage is very good. I applied two good coats. I did have to open a window for a couple of days to hold the odor down. I painted over it with typical good wall paint and any lingering odor was completely gone. I purchased the peel and stick tape for along the floor and I applied it to the first area...then used the Blue Max Liquid over it. On another side I did not apply the Tape and I have to say the seal was so good I did not need to use the Tape the first time. I finished my job without it...only using the Blue Max.I do not have running water through the wall, just lots of moisture. It is Springtime here in the Pacific NW and there are seeps and springs on the outside of this wall. So I did not finish off this wall for the last two months, in order to see if what I applied would actually work. It Has! The wall and floor are dry. There is no musty smell and the paint has not changed in any way. I am now ready to complete my project and turning this area into good livable dry space.
