FAQ's

WHAT TYPES OF BIRDS WILL VISIT MY BIRD FEEDER?

The types of birds that visit your bird feeder depend on several factors, including the type of food you offer and your geographical location. Common backyard birds that are often attracted to feeders include finches, sparrows, chickadees, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, and nuthatches.

WHAT KIND OF BIRD SEED SHOULD I USE?

The type of bird seed you should use depends on the birds you want to attract. For example, sunflower seeds are popular and attract a wide variety of birds, while nyjer (thistle) seeds are favored by finches. Mixed seed blends are also a good option as they cater to different bird species.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REFILL THE BIRD FEEDER?

The frequency of refilling your bird feeder depends on its size, the number of birds visiting, and the seed capacity. Generally, it's recommended to refill the feeder before it runs completely empty to ensure birds have a continuous food supply, especially during colder months when natural food sources may be scarce.

HOW DO I KEEP SQUIRRELS AND OTHER PESTS AWAY FROM THE BIRD FEEDER?

There are several strategies to deter squirrels and pests from accessing the bird feeder. These include using squirrel-proof feeders with built-in baffles or cages, placing the feeder at a distance from trees or structures that squirrels can climb, using hot pepper or spicy seed blends that deter squirrels, and regularly cleaning up spilled seed to avoid attracting unwanted animals.

SHOULD I CLEAN MY BIRD FEEDER, AND HOW OFTEN?

Yes, it's essential to clean your bird feeder regularly to prevent the buildup of mold, bacteria, and spoiled food, which can be harmful to birds. Clean the feeder with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. How often you clean it depends on factors like weather conditions, bird activity, and seed quality, but a general guideline is to clean it at least once every two weeks, or more frequently if needed.

It was a good product for the price

I liked it because it had more than 2 hangers. I didn't like it because the hangers are to close, they need to be further apart, if your going to hang bigger feeders. The feeders that came with the hangers work well.

The stand itsalf is great!

I am finding that the birds do not eat from the supplied feeders, except for the suet. I have taken to putting the bird food in the bowl and they eat it up and then drink the water. I am going to get a different feeder station to see if it's the bird food or the supplied feeder.

Great starter kit

Great all-in-one starter kit for bird feeding at a good price point. Fairly sturdy despite height, and easy to put together + install in the ground. Variety of feeders allows us to offer a variety of feed.
